Mon-Fri 9am to 12pmOut of Bounds is a fast paced show that covers all things sports both locally and nationally. Hosted by Qualk and Dutch, Out of Bounds is guaranteed to inform and entertain.
William Qualkinbush is a relatively new fixture on WCCP as a young, energetic producer and host. William made his on-air debut on WCCP after his grandfather won an hour of airtime for him at an auction in 2006, when he was just a junior in high school. It was a good investment, as he has filled a variety of roles at the station since his arrival.
After a stint hosting and producing a sports program on CU on campus station,WSBF, he joined the WCCP staff in June 2011 as a producer and co-host during the early morning and the host of Qualk Talk, a Saturday morning show that aired from 10 AM-12 PM.
In addition to his work in radio, William has worked in a number of different sports-related fields due to his connections at Clemson. He spent six years as a student assistant, then a graduate assistant, in the Clemson University Sports Information Department. He has also spent five years as a freelance writer, most frequently for the Daily Journal in Seneca and IPTAY Media, covering everything from youth and high school sports to the College World Series. Early in his college career, William was a contributor for Bleacher Report, a national sports blog.
William is also does some color commentary for Tigers Baseball and Lady Tiger Basketball and weekly high school football broadcasts, the public address announcer for the Clemson Tiger baseball team, and he has done PA work for a number of other sports at Clemson over the years, including volleyball, women’s basketball, track and field, men’s and women’s soccer, and men’s and women’s tennis.
William has deep roots within the Clemson community as a lifetime native of the upstate whose parents are avid Clemson supporters and IPTAY donors who made sure he attended every home football game as a youth. His mother, Lee Ann, is a math teacher at D.W. Daniel High School in nearby Central, SC, and his father, Tony, is a minister at Central First Baptist Church. He also has three younger siblings: Benjamin, Anna, and Elizabeth.
William has followed in his mother’s footsteps by earning both a Bachelor’s degree (December 2010) and a Master’s degree (May 2013) from Clemson University. Follow him on Twitter at @QualkTalk.
Dutch was born and raised most of his life in Washington, D.C. A graduate of Clemson University in 1996, Industrial Engineering with a minor in Business, Dutch was a member of the Clemson Tigers football team under Coach Ken Hatfield and served as a graduate assistant at Penn State University 2008 and 2009 seasons.
While always a performer in and around Clemson as a student, Dutch’s radio experience while at Clemson was surprisingly as a co-host for a music based show. Dutch tutors and mentors middle school to college aged young people in his free time and also enjoys coaching young people in various sports. Dutch also does public speaking and particularly enjoys speaking to groups about the various challenges facing the youth of today as well as young parents.
WCCP gives Dutch a chance to talk about something that has been a major part of his entire life….sports. “I appreciate the opportunity that has been presented to me and my goal is to entertain people, with sports as the backdrop, as they maneuver through their work day.” Follow Dutch on Twitter @TheDutchColeman
