Roy Philpott Bio (@RoyPhilpott)
Since January 2012, Roy Philpott has been a sports talk radio fixture in upstate South Carolina, hosting the Roy Philpott Show from 12N-3PM everyday on 105.5 The Roar. Philpott, a 1999 Clemson graduate, has been passionate about Clemson athletics since his undergrad days, and he brings that passion to his show on a daily basis.

In addition to his work at the station, Philpott has become a noticeable face on ESPN, serving as a play-by-play voice for college football as well as men’s and women’s basketball on the ESPN family of networks. During the 2015-16 calendar year, Philpott called 15 college football contests and nearly 50 college basketball games on ESPN, calling a game for at least one team in each of the five major conferences. Philpott is set to call even more games, both football and basketball, for ESPN this fall and winter.

Philpott’s television career began in 2008 with WLOS/My40, Asheville’s ABC affiliate. During his time there, he was the lead play-by-play man for Friday Night Lights high school football, Southern Conference football and select SoCon and Big South basketball games.

Prior to television, Philpott started the Fox Sports-affiliated website CUTigers.com in 2001. The website covered Clemson football on a full-time basis and was one of the largest team-specific websites online. Philpott has also spent time calling Clemson baseball and women’s basketball games for WCCP 105.5 The Roar.
