WCCP’s Tiger Pregame Show Gearing Up For 15th Year On Air!
The Tiger Pregame Show, a game day tradition for Clemson football fans on Saturdays since 2003, will enter its 15th year on air when the Defending National Champion Clemson Tigers host Kent State on September 2nd.
The show (along with The Tiger Tailgate Show) will have a new broadcast location for the 2017 season; “The Corner of Swann Pavilion At Littlejohn Coliseum”!
Scott Rhymer, in his 15th year as Host, will once again anchor the show to bring Clemson fans all of the information, interviews, and insight to prepare for the game. Rhymer has anchored the show on WCCP from its birth, giving Clemson fans a familiar voice and perspective on what has happened, what will happen, and the implications of all things Clemson when it comes to the upcoming games.
While hosting The Tiger Pregame Show, Scott has broadcast live on location in 11 different states across this nation covering Clemson on game day.
“The previous 14 years on air, plus my 45 years of following Clemson football, has given me the opportunity to literally see it all”, Rhymer said recently. “From two National Championships, many great and exhilarating games, some heartbreaking losses in games that would have meant so much to win, and a couple of dreadful seasons…I have sat beside Clemson Nation through it all”.
Kelly Gramlich joins Scott Rhymer for her 2nd year as Co-Host of The Tiger Pregame Show. Kelly got her start at WCCP 105.5 The Roar in February 2015, appearing on Out of Bounds twice a week. She became the full-time producer and co-host of the show in May 2016.
“I am so excited to join Scott on The Tiger Pregame Show for my 2nd season”, Gramlich recently stated. “I am so thankful for Scott’s willingness to bring me on the show and being so generous with a program he has produced for 15 years.
“Scott truly is the best in the business. I can’t wait for football season to start and to chronicle Clemson’s quest for another National Championship!”
Gramlich also serves as the color commentator for Clemson women’s basketball broadcasts on 105.5 FM.
In addition to her duties with women’s basketball, Gramlich has called men’s basketball games and volleyball games for ACC Network Extra. You can also find Gramlich’s work in the Anderson Independent-Mail’s Orange and White, where she publishes a weekly column on Clemson Athletics.
Prior to 105.5 The Roar, Gramlich was a student assistant in the Clemson Athletic Communications Department, serving as one of the media contacts for the Clemson women’s basketball team.
While at Clemson, Gramlich was a member of the Clemson’s women’s basketball team from 2011-2014 and holds the record for most three-pointers made in a single game with eight. Gramlich is a native of Austin, Texas, but has quickly proven that her colors now bleeds Clemson Orange!
The Tiger Pregame Show will tap into the continued emergence of Social Media as part of Clemson fan’s game day expectations, with several segments engaging fans via Twitter (@tigerpregame, @1055TheRoar and @kellygramlich).
“No longer do Clemson fans have to sit beside to listen to the show”, Rhymer points out.
“When driving to the game Saturday or working around the house, our fans can stream the show via the WCCP 105.5 FM App using their smart phones, making the show as portable as the listener wants to be on game day,” Rhymer explains.
“But that is not the only reason we embrace the technology. In addition to streaming the show, we also want to engage fans during the show to allow them to give their opinions and insight while we are broadcasting”, Rhymer explains. “That’s the really exciting part of technology as it allows fans do do more than just listen. It allows them to engage”.
During the game week, fans can also nominate themselves as the “Clemson Fan Of The Week” via she show’s Twitter feeds. The winner each week will join Scott and Kelly during the Bottom Line Segment as a 3rd host of the show on air!
The Tiger Pregame Show format will continue to offer in-depth analysis of the upcoming game, focusing on X’s and O’s of what fans should expect to see on the field during the game.
Segments for the show include up-to-the-minute game day weather conditions, Top 25 Report, ACC and SEC Game Breakdowns, Injury Reports for both Clemson and their opponent, Opposing Team’s Perspective, and a historical look back at this day in Clemson football history. There will also be segments with current Clemson football players that give fans a more personal look at the players behind the face mask and helmet.
Each week, Clemson Head Coach Dabo Swinney, Defensive Coordinator Brent Venables, and Co-Offensive Coordinators Tony Elliott and Jeff Scott will offer their input on the show.
Player interviews will take place each week to give fans an idea of what the vibe of the players inside the program is as they prepare for the upcoming opponent.
Don Munson, the Voice of the Tigers, will join the show live each week to give his unique perspective inside the football program.
And, just like in the previous 14 years, the show will close the final hour with the Keys to the Game and game day predictions, this year with Scott Rhymer and Kelly Gramlich and our weekly “Fan of the Week”.
